This week we look at Backbends. These are a dynamic and energising group of poses. We spend most of our day hunched forwards and so these poses provide a wonderful balance. They preserve the youthfulness of our spine and promote courage and compassion.

Pranayama – Ujjayi and Antara Kumbhaka
Ujjayi is a slow deep breath, the foundation of Pranayama. Antara Kumbhaka is the brief retention (holding) of the inhalation. This practice will sooth your nerves and help with anxiety as well as bring energy if you are feeling physically and mentally depleted.
Therapy Session – Stress Headache snd Eye Strain (at your Desk)
Therapy Session for stress related headache and eyestrain. This practice begins with sitting at your desk or table and finishes with lying on the floor with your legs raised either onto a chair or up a wall if available. A lovely quietening practice that will ease that busy stressed brain and tired eyes. Suitable for beginners. 15-20mins
Upcoming Live-streamed ‘Lunchtime’ session, Monday 12-12.30pm, with Tim
This 30min ‘Lunchtime’ session is the perfect way to balance your morning. Create a routine and practice this Monday class a number of times throughout the week, daily even. You will be less sore and tired, your metabolism will be much improved, you will feel clearer and you will likely be a lot more productive. Make a pact with your workmates and encourage one another.
Archived ‘Live-Streamed’ session, Friday 7.15-8am, with Kristy
This Friday 7.15-8am session with Kristy will be ‘live-streamed’ each week. It will then be available ‘on-demand’ until it is replaced with the subsequent Friday session. Modifications and alternate poses will be offered , making this ‘general’ level class suitable for all levels.
Archived ‘Live-Streamed’ session, Tuesday 7.15am, with Kristy
This is an archived recording of the most recent ‘Live-Streamed’ Tuesday 7.15-8.00am, with Kristy. It is available on demand for one week and will then be replaced with the following Tuesdays session. These sessions generally focus on standing poses and forward bends. With alternatives and modifications they are suitable for all levels.
Archived Live-streamed, ‘Lunchtime’ session, Monday 12.00 – 12.30pm, with Tim
Get your working week off to great start with this Live-streamed 30min ‘Lunchtime’ session. This session will then be archived and available ‘on-demand’ for the rest of the week. Practice it each day and you will continue to feel fresher, clear and be more productive. Suitable for beginners.
