BEGINNERS COURSE – WEEK 8
This is the concluding session of our beginners course and covers the basic standing poses seated poses and a preliminary look at the most important of the inverted (upside down) poses Savangasana (Shoulderstand). Having completed this course you will be well prepared to undertake any of our regular scheduled ‘Live Streamed’ sessions. So too you will ready to undertake the soon to be released Intermediate Course.
Yoga@Work #10 – Fundamentals of Pranayama (Breathe)
This session begins our specific focus upon the breathe. The study of the breathe in yoga is know as Pranayama and is consider a development from the study of poses which are know as asana. Pranayama is both more subtle and more powerful than asana. It deals directly with our nervous system.
Yoga@Work #6 – Opening the Shoulders
This session looks at opening the shoulders while seated. The two main arm positions are called Garudasana (eagle pose) and Gomakasana (Cow face pose). These are fantastic poses for when you have been at your computer and will help greatly in relieving shoulder and neck stiffness, aiding concentration and preventing tension headaches. No yoga equipment required.
Yoga@Work #4 – Fundamentals of Standing
Standing! We take it for granted but most of us don’t do it very well, particularly if we have been sitting for a long periods or are exhausted. In this session we bring a little more intention and a few simple techniques to improve our standing. This will improve your posture, the functioning of your organs and your energy levels. No Yoga equipment required.
